I initially trained at the Promis Counselling Centre in Kent and London, at their residential, half-way house and day care centres.
I have also worked extensively at SHARP London for a number of years as a counsellor, working with people with addictive and other problems.
As a result, in addition to working in the general counselling field with clients with a range of problems, I also have expertise in working with addictive problems, both with those struggling with an addiction or addictive/compulsive behaviour, and those who are in recovery from addiction.
My private work has also tended to be around people with a range of problems, working both in short term and longer term counselling, covering specific issues and more general psychological or emotional difficulties.
I have a Masters Degree in Counselling and Addiction Psychology. I am also certificated in CBT Approaches and Basic Mindfulness Stress Reduction. I am a member of the Federation of Alcohol and Drug Practitioners (FDAP) and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP. Reg.) I operate in accordance with the ethical guidelines of both these bodies.
I also use a qualified and skilled clinical supervisor for all my cases, as is expected under FDAP, BACP conditions and common psychotherapeutic expectations.
